Our Origin Story
VioCyte began with a breakthrough insight from founder David Zelmanovic, whose career in cytochemistry and hematology instrumentation spans decades, beginning at Technicon and continuing through leadership roles in diagnostic system development.
After years of working with complex multi-reagent analyzers, David envisioned a radically simplified architecture: a single-channel hematology platform capable of producing a complete CBC with white blood cell differential.
His proof-of-principle demonstrated that CBC measurements could be generated using a single flow-cytometric channel operating with a single buffered saline reagent, eliminating many of the complexities inherent in traditional systems.
This approach addresses longstanding limitations of point-of-care hematology while improving analytical clarity, consistency, and analytical robustness resulting in exceptional system performance.
Recognizing the significance of this advance, VioCyte was formally established in late 2024 to bring this technology to market.
